DGGS were proud to welcome Sonia Flynn CBE to be our honoured guest at Presentation Evening, last Thursday, 10th November 2022.

It was a wonderful event, celebrating and recognising students’ academic distinction and continued contribution to all aspects of school life, with prizes, awards and certificates being presented throughout to all year groups, including last year's Year 11 who came together to recognise their achievements at GCSE.

Students heard about Sonia's fascinating work as the Chief Probation Officer in His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service, her commitment to rehabilitation and her own route to success. Her advice to the students that anything is possible with hard work and dedication struck a chord with parents/carers, staff and students alike.

We were also delighted that the Mayor of Dover, Councillor Gordon Cowan was able to join us for this special event. The evening was a welcome opportunity to once again come together as a community and recognise achievement, it was very well attended with our parents/carers and guests who continue to support the school in many ways
