Dover Grammar School Combined Cadet Force (DGS CCF)
What is the Combined Cadet Force?
DGS CCF is an extra-curricular activity open to all students in Years 8-13. The CCF is open to students at both Dover Grammar School for Boys (DGSB) and Dover Girls Grammar School (DGGS).
The aim of the CCF is to provide cadets with challenging and exciting opportunities, encouraging them to try new activities and develop their self-confidence, teamwork skills, leadership and communication skills.
Cadets are given the opportunity to follow a military syllabus, achieve vocational qualifications and leadership opportunities. The CCF is not part of military, nor is there any obligation to join the Armed Forces.
Cadet force activities are overseen by trained and vetted Cadet Force Adult Volunteers, who hold either Cadet Force Commissions as Officers or appointments as uniformed or non-uniformed staff.
You can see some of the activities that our cadets undertake in the video below:
How to join DGS CCF
To join DGS CCF firstly please read the Recruit Information Pack, which include the Terms and Conditions of Service (TACOS). You can find this pack below.
You can then complete and return the Cadet Enrolment Form along with the £25 uniform deposit (payable by cash or cheques made payable to ‘Dover Grammar School CCF Pte Acc’) to enrol within the CCF.
The completed forms and deposit can be returned to the CCF Headquarters at DGSB on Wednesday or Fridays in office hours or to the receptions of either school. For pupils in DGGS there may also be an option to return the forms electronically via ParentMail and this will be communicated to you separately.
Please clearly mark all returns for the attention of the CCF and complete with your name and school form.
