To mark 'Open Doors Get Into Construction' week, Former Head Girl Ellie Carswell visited DGGS on Friday 8 October to deliver a careers talk and workshop to the DGGS Engineering Society. Ellie works as a Project Manager at Faithful+Gould, who sponsored Ellie to complete her MSc in Construction Project Management at the University of Greenwich. Students were interested to hear how varied Ellie’s work is managing the successful delivery of construction projects across different sectors - from Healthcare to Education, and Residential to Prisons. They particularly enjoyed the workshop, where they were given a project brief and had to work together as a team in order to complete the project on time. Of course Ellie threw in some project issues part way through the workshop to see how the teams would react to real-life challenges! Many thanks to Ellie for giving up her time to support the DGGS Aspire Careers Programme.
