Demelza Hospice & Dover Food Bank

    6th Dec 2018

Every year our students at Dover Grammar School for Girls raise a phenomenal amount for various charities.

They give up their lunchtimes to fund raise, their evenings to make, source or bake the products they will be selling to raise money and their time generally to take part in fundraising events. They work as Form groups, as individual students, as Year groups or as a whole school. We are extremely proud of the steps they take to care for others.

We were delighted to receive a certificate from Demelza Hospice care for children to congratulate our students on raising the amazing sum of £6681 since 1998.

For our Harvest week, the Prefect team enthused our students into bringing goods for the Dover Food Bank. An amazing 292kg worth of goods were collected for this wonderful cause supporting our community. The Food bank said “they were truly humbled by the generosity of our students”.

The support our students provide through their fundraising allows charities locally and worldwide to offer what they need at the worst time in their lives. We are privileged to work in such a caring community.
